MALGORZATA KELLIS  soprano

 

    The International Polish American soprano, Dr. hab. Malgorzata Kellis, has been heard performing in concert, opera and oratorio throughout Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, USA,  Russia and China. A frequent guest at numerous International Music Festivals, she has also been heard at the Warsaw Philharmoni, the Munich Gesteig, the Krakow Opera, the Silesian Opera, the Riverside Opera, the Hudson Lyric Opera, the Opera Oggi, the Queens Opera, the Warsaw Musical Theater, Warsaw Royal Castle, Lancut Castle, Rome Italy's legendary Accademia di Santa Cecilia and Carnegie Hall in New York. Among others, she performed her favorite roles of Tosca (Tosca), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), Countess (Hrabina- S.Moniuszko), Zuzia (Verbum Nobile-S.Moniuszko), Basia (Krakowiacy i Górale-J.Stefani), Musetta (La Boheme), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia). Having become a singer in great demand at festivals and celebrations, she has also appeared with great success in concerts throughout both the east and west coasts of the USA.

Malgorzata Kellis has worked with many conductors including S.Chrzanowski, T.Kozlowski, J.Boniecki, M.Aurelia, M.Elsner, P.Zinger, J.Toscano, J.Besser, J.Meetze.

        She is the author of the transliteration into IPA of "Anthology of 12 Polish Art Songs", making them accessible to non-Polish

International performers. She has been invited as a lecturer and presenter of her work for the PIASA,  Arts and Sciences Conference at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, at Binghamton University, NY and also at the Sembrich Museum at Lake George.     

        Since  July, 2016 she has been a master teacher for the New York Big Apple Music Festival, in cooperation with Queens College in New York.

        As a singer, educator and musical arranger for both string quartette as well as instrumental trio, Malgorzata Kellis has also been a successful producer of various concerts and events. She conducted a series of masterclasses in Lezajsk, Radom and Stalowa Wola in Poland. In 2015 she was invited by the University of Lanzhou to the Republic of China where she presented masterclasses and also served as an adjudicator for their International Vocal Competition in Lanzhou. For the past few years she has been an author and translator of music articles and reviews, published in the Polish magazine, "Twoja Muza" and the Polish Weekly News in New York, where she also maintains her New York City Vocal studio.

        Dr. Kellis has been the Artistic Director of the Marcella Sembrich International Vocal Competition at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York.

        In August of 2018 Dr. Kellis served as chairman of the Jury and she conducted masterclasses at the 5th Hong Kong International Music Festival in Hong Kong.

        In Autumn of 2018 Dr.Kellis was on a concert tour in Russia including Siberia.
